[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $300**

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu-Inca culture, ca. 1000 to 1470 CE. A collection of shell beads likely collected from multiple Pre-Columbian cultures and strung on 3 strands, carved into discs and seed from spondylus shells. The longest strand has several pieces of red coral which are probably from the post-Conquest / modern era and added to balance / fill out the strand. Full shells were added as pendants to the strands of the predominantly white beads. While strung on modern cotton cords, these beads can easily be restrung as necklaces with clasps. Size of longest strand doubled: 24" L (61 cm); large cylinder bead: 0.9" L x 0.35" W (2.3 cm x 0.9 cm)

Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.

#177882
Condition Report: Nicks and chips to beads. Strung in modern times on a modern cotton cord. The 2 coral beads are probably modern or Colonial period. Could be worn as is, but we recommend restringing or adding clasps.
