China decor wig box - Louis XV - lacquered wood and Martin varnish - Mid 18th century

Wig box in lacquered and Martin varnish wood. France, Louis XV period, mid-18th century. Nice curved model, the slightly curved lid with Chinese style decoration on a red marbled background has a large central decoration surrounded by flowers and rocaille foliage. On the sides, bouquets of flowers in colour and gold. Black lacquered inside, powdered with gold, imitating Japanese lacquer. The bottom is a blackened oak panel. In good condition for its age, small decoration lacks, cracks and small slits. The decoration is fresher on the back and sides, model without the original keyhole since it is gilt (other models have a metal keyhole) . Original hinges and lock. Without key, see the many photos. Very beautiful period object, in rare condition and precious quality work, certainly from a good Parisian workshop. Careful shipment.
