Chinese 4 Panel Inlaid Wood Screen, Four Seasons
A Chinese 4-panel carved wood / rosewood screen depicting the Four Seasons. Late 19th / early 20th century. Each separate panel measures 53" high, 17" wide and 1" deep and is inset with mother of pearl, bone and stone decoration depicting birds, florals and flowering trees and branches, which in turn depict 1) Chun (Spring) 2) Har (Summer) 3) Chow (Autumn) and 4) Doong (Winter). The panels each have a brass / bronze ruyi shaped hanging ornament.
