Chinese Agate Brooch, 19th Century
A Chinese agate plaque brooch dating from the 19th century. The plaque depicts a seated Luohan beneath a pine tree and 2 small bats have been glued to the piece as later additions.
Dimensions: 2 5/8 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide, 6.7 cm tall X 3.2 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition.
Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970. Lots 79-90 from our March 14, 2019 auction were from the same collection.
