Chinese Agate Carving of Goats, 18/19th Century
A Chinese agate carving of a pair of goats dating from the 18th to 19th century. The goats are eating flowers, one goat is colored by dendritic inclusions.
Dimensions: 7/8 inch tall X 1 15/16 inches wide, 2.2 cm tall X 4.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Large area of loss to the flowers.
Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970. Lots 79-90 from our March 14, 2019 auction were from the same collection.
