Chinese Baotou Scholar's Rug - China - Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)
Ancient and very precious Chinese wool cotton carpet, knotted entirely by hand (see last photo on the back) , 19th century. Passed down through generations and once used both as a carpet and as a tapestry hung in a display case on the wall, given its amazing beauty and shine despite all the years.
With particular colors such as red predominating which is a symbol of joy in China, like flowers symbolizing prosperity, happiness and longevity.

As you can see there are three small parts of the carpet to be restored (spun thread) .
