Chinese Black Ground Lady's Robe, 19th Century

A Chinese black-ground woman's robe dating from the 19th century. It is embroidered with roundels of floral tracery and auspicious objects. The roundels are surrounded by flowers and fruit throughout. The bottom of the robe features a landscape scene. The robe has white sleeve borders with flowers. The forbidden stitch is used on the borders.

Dimensions are: 40 inches tall X 52 inches wide, 101.6 cm X 132.1 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There are a few pulled threads as well as staining and fading throughout. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
