Chinese Blanc de Chine Guanyin, 18-19th Century
A Chinese blanc de chine statue of Guanyin dating from the 18th or 19th century. She stands on a wave and pearl pedestal holding a scroll in her right hand. She wears a ruyi necklace and a lingzhi in her top knot. There is a 4-character mark on her back.
Dimensions are: 13 1/4 inches tall X 5 inches wide, 33.7 cm X 12.7 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are firing cracks to the base. There are several areas of repair to the bottom edges of her robe, hands, and to the front of her robe. There are chips to the edges of the robe and to the pedestal.
Provenance: From a private New York City collection. Purchased from Eldred's Auction Gallery.
