Chinese Blue and White Decorated Wine Ewer

pear shaped form with thin delicate neck and spout, ring foot, decorated with two panels depicting figures in a landscape, 6-1/2 in. - Provenance: Collected in Shanghai, China prior to 1902 by Frederick and Margaret Haskell; By descent in family to Frances Arnold; Private Collection, Newnan, Georgia - Note: Objects from this personal collection were acquired in Shanghai, China between the years 1862-1902. They were collected by Frederick and Margaret Haskell. Mr. Haskell was the owner of the Japan and China Trading Company. The couple retired to Lake Weir Florida in 1902, bringing these collected objects with them to the United States and they descended through the family to current day. Condition Report: missing lid, small firing crack to foot, pin holes and light abrasions consistent with age and use, tiny chip at tip of handle, spout connector with small areas of fluorescence (impurities under the glaze, as made)
