Chinese Calligraphy, Yu Youren Dedicated to Yihong

於右任 書法立軸 A Chinese calligraphy poem in ink on paper by Yu Youren and dedicated to Yihong. The calligraphy has 1 seal and is mounted on a silk backing.

Dimensions are: 41 1/4 inches tall X 14 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The calligraphy has a crease.

Provenance: From the estate of Shen Dafu. Shen Dafu, better known by his pseudonym, Feng Ren, was a famous Taiwanese journalist and poet. He published his first collection of poems, "The Beginning,” at the age of 14. By the age of 19, he had taken over as the editor of the supplement to the "Republic of China Daily" in Shaoxing, in which he published a short story collection "Before the Window." He served as the editor-in-chief of the "National Newspaper" of the West Zhejiang Province, the "Revival Daily" and the "Southeastern Daily", and the editor-in-chief of the Hangzhou Branch of the Central News Agency, before emigrating to Taiwan in 1948. In Taiwan, he helped to found the popular literary magazine "Kunnan Poetry,” as well as the Jiachen Painting and Calligraphy Association, which helped to discover many famous poets and artists. As a founder of the China Arts and Culture Center in Taiwan, he held hundreds of calligraphy and painting exhibitions, providing a platform for Taiwan's poetry, calligraphy and painting organizations and activities. In 1978, his family moved to Sacramento, California, and he became a citizen of the United States in 1990. 拍品461至469來自沈達夫舊藏。沈達夫, 筆名風人,台灣著名記者和詩人。祖籍浙江紹興,生於福建龍岩。14歲能詩,有詩集《初蛩吟》。15歲在紹興《民國日報》副刊發表新詩及散文。19歲主編該報副刊,並出版短篇小說集《窗前》。抗日戰爭至1948年去台灣前,歷任浙西《民族報》、皖南《復興日報》及《東南日報》總編輯、總主筆、中央通訊社杭州分社主編等職。在台灣創刊《鯤南詩苑》,風行三台。創立甲辰書畫會,名家薈萃。又舉辦百家書畫展,中國藝文中心,為台灣有詩書畫組織及活動之嚆矢。1978年舉家移居美國加州薩克拉門托,1990年入美國籍。著有散雜文集《西湖古今談》、《柞歌》、《黃花集》、《迎春曲》、《風人夢憶》、《台灣風情》、《風人游記》、《寰球游記》;詩集《風人絕句》、《風人律詩》、《風人詩草》等。
