Chinese Carved Bamboo Snuff Bottle, 19th Century
A Chinese bamboo carved snuff bottle dating from the 19th century. The snuff bottle has a glass stopper with no spoon. The body is carved on 1 side with a bird flying over a garden, and on the other side is a figure in the garden watching the bird.
Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide, 6.35 cm X 3.81 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Loss of shoulder elements, significant areas of repair.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Mullen in Upstate New York. Mr. Mullen was a world traveler and collected from different countries from the 1950s to the 1980s.
