Chinese Celadon Porcelain Figural Calligraphy Urn

A Chinese celadon porcelain lidded ginger jar vessel. A large rounded baluster form body with glazed light celadon blue exterior decorated with a figural landscape scene depicting courtesans, a large flowering cherry blossom tree, with architectural, and other botanical elements to one side, and featuring a profusion of hand applied pigment calligraphy marks to the opposing side. Surmounted by a rounded lid with wide flared rim and rounded disc finial handle, decorated with opposing botanical designs and pigment calligraphy marks. No other apparent marker marks.

Dimensions: 16 X 9.5 X 9.5 in.

Condition: Good overall condition having mild age related surface wear. Lid has losses to finial and rim. Urn has a slight convex curve to the underside, causing it to rock when pushed, possibly intentional. Estate fresh to the market.
