A Chinese Changsha kiln ewer dating from the Tang dynasty. The lobed ewer has a lotus design beneath its spout.
Dimensions are: 7 1/4 inches tall X 6 inches wide, 18.4 cm X 15.2 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are significant areas of repair to the neck, rim, and handle.
Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
