Chinese Cinnabar with Jade Snuff Bottle, Republic

A Chinese cinnabar snuff bottle with matching lid dating to the Republic period. The snuff bottle is inset on both sides with a jade carving of a vase of flowers, also depicted is a stylized ruyi border.

Dimensions are: 3 in tall X 2 in wide, 7.6 cm tall X 5.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The snuff bottle has 1 chip in the stopper has been repainted, otherwise good condition.

Provenance: From an estate in Southern California.
