Chinese Crystal Snuff Bottle, 18-19th Century
A Chinese crystal snuff bottle dating from the 18th to the 19th century. The snuff bottle has a glass stopper with a metal spoon. The exterior of the snuff bottle is carved with scholar's items and a pair of guardian lion head handles. A natural seam in the stone has been carved over.
Dimensions: 2 7/8 inches tall X 1 5/8 inches wide, 7.3 cm X 4.1 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: One miniscule chip to the rim.
Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970. Lots 79-90 from our March 14, 2019 auction were from the same collection.
