Chinese Embroidered Silk Drapery, 19th Century
A Chinese embroidered silk drapery with metal Shou medallion elements dating from the 19th century. The yellow-ground drapery is shaped roughly like a three-sided square with ruyi-shaped cut-outs. It is embroidered with dragons and phoenixes.
Dimensions are: 23 1/2 inches tall X 31 inches wide, 59.7 cm X 78.7 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are areas of loss and replacement as well as staining.
Provenance: From Mrs. Li in Honolulu, Hawaii. A family heirloom.
