Chinese Embroidery Ranking Badge, 19th Century

A Chinese embroidered ranking badge dating from the 19th century. It features a white egret with a blue crested head facing the coral-bead sun on the left, denoting it as a badge for the sixth civil rank. The egret stands on a rock among gold-thread waves with Buddhist heavenly objects.

Dimensions are: 12 1/2 inches tall X 12 1/2 inches wide, 31.8 cm X 31.8 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There are small areas of pulled threads to the black border, but it is in overall good condition. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
