Chinese Enameled Bronze Snuff Bottle, 19th Century
A Chinese enameled bronze snuff bottle dating from the 19th century. It is turquoise-ground with two roundels featuring European figures. The bottom of the bottle has a 4-character mark of the emperor Qianlong. It has a metal stopper with a spoon.
Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 1 3/4 inches wide, 5.1 cm X 4.4 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in overall good condition with an abrasion to the exterior. The spoon has been detached from the stopper.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Pitts in Southern Virginia. The piece was collected over 30 years ago.
