East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty to Republic Period, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A hammered copper snuff box of ovoid form with an accompanying lid, all covered in vibrant green lacquer. A pair of figures are carved from ivory and attached to the top of the lid, perhaps important characters in Chinese mythology. Size: 2.2" L x 3.2" W x 1.1" H (5.6 cm x 8.1 cm x 2.8 cm)
