Chinese Famille Rose Snuff Bottle, Qianlong
A Chinese famille rose porcelain snuff bottle with a green stone stopper, Qianlong mark and period. The snuff bottle is decorated with two famille rose landscape roundels with blue-ground low relief dragon carvings. There is also a four-character mark on the bottom of the snuff bottle.
Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 1 inch wide, 6.4 cm tall X 2.5 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Minor age wear, otherwise good condition.
Provenance: From Mr. & Mrs. Yuen in Minnesota. Mrs. Yuen’s father, Chen Kangjue, operated an antiques shop in Yan’an Road, Shanghai from 1940 to 1966. This collection was returned to Mr. Chen Kangjue and was brought back to the United States with his descendants 30 years ago.
