Chinese Gilt Bronze Guanyin, Ming Dynasty
A Chinese gilt bronze statue of Guanyin dating from the Ming dynasty with a wooden stand. She is seated with the infant figure of the deity Muzha on her lap. She wears a robe with a hood draped over her top knot.
Dimensions are: 14 1/2 inches tall X 8 inches wide, 36.8 cm X 20.3 cm. Weight: 4500 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The infant figure is missing both hands. There is loss to the bottom of the robe. Gilt and age wear.
Provenance: From a Los Angeles, California estate.
