Chinese Guan Glazed Dish, Ming Dynasty
A Chinese small green guan-glazed dish dating from the Ming dynasty.
Dimensions are: 1 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition.
Provenance: From Mr. & Mrs. Yuen in Minnesota. Mrs. Yuen's father, Chen Kangjue, operated an antiques shop in Yan'an Road, Shanghai from 1940 to 1966. This collection was returned to Mr. Chen Kangjue, then was brought back to the United States with his descendants 30 years ago. A similar guan glazed dish but in an unusual shape was sold at Christie's New York, March 22, 2007 lot 384 and a guan lazed dish with a tighter crackle pattern was sold at Christie's at the same sale lot 385.
