Chinese Han Dynasty Terracotta Attendants (8 figures)
East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A lovely ensemble of eight mold-formed pottery tomb attendants, all shown standing with one arm resting on their stomachs and the other laying to their sides. Dressed in floor-length robes that cascade down their slender figures, each ancient female wears a tall headdress and a belt at the midsection. Enveloped in light hues of salmon pink with liberal remains of grey and cream pigments, all of the figures display minimalistic faces with arched brows, sunken eyes, round noses, and petite mouths. Size (all approximately the same): 1.75" W x 7.5" H (4.4 cm x 19 cm)
