Chinese Hand Mirror with White Jade Handle, 17th C
A Chinese hand mirror dating from the 17th century. The mirror features a white jade dragon hook handle with a ruyi interlace. The reverse of the mirror is decorated with emblems of the 8 Daoist Immortals and is inset with pink tourmaline and jadeite. Also featured on the reverse is a white jade plaque carving of a guardian lion with a ball.
Dimensions are: 8 3/4 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide, 22.2 cm tall X 11.4 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition.
Provenance: From a Dr. Wang in Northern California. Dr. Wang is a retired professor from the School of Business at California State University.
