Chinese Hardstone-Inlaid Huanghuali Brush Pot
Qing Dynasty, Qianlong or Jiaqing Period
The cylindrical form inlaid with semi-precious stones including: mother-of-pearl, coral, malachite, soapstone, turquoise and lapis-lazuli, to depict a long gnarled bough bearing prunus in various stages of bloom, entwined with camellia branches. The ground is further detailed with lingzhi and orchid leaves emerging from rocks.
