Chinese Inside-Painted Glass Snuff Bottle by Xue Shaofu
A Chinese inside-painted glass snuff bottle by Xue Shaofu of the Republic period. Both sides feature a scene of insects and a spider on vegetables. One side features a 3-character inscription, and the other side features a 5-character inscription with two seals.
Dimensions are: 3 3/4 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches wide, 9.5 cm X 6.4 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is a scratch on one side of the neck. The bottom has "CHINA" scratched into it. Overall good condition.
Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago, Illinois, by descent; acquired in China and Hong Kong prior to the 1960s.
