Chinese Jade Carving of Toad in a Box, 18-19th Century
A Chinese jade carving dating from the 18th to the 19th century. The carving depicts a 3-legged toad in a box above which a bird eats lingzhi and peaches.
Dimensions: 1 inch tall X 5/8 inch wide, 2.5 cm tall X 1.6 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition.
Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970. Lots 79-90 from our March 14, 2019 auction were from the same collection.
