西周 玉馬A Chinese jade horse dating from the Western Zhou dynasty.
Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Age appropriate wear including natural losses to the stone.
Provenance: From Mrs. Kwan in Northern California, by descent from her parents, who collected in Hong Kong over 40 years ago. Similar jade carvings of animals, dating from the Western Zhou, are illustrated in _Zhong Guo Yu Qi Quan Ji_, Vol. 2, Hebei: Hebei Fine Arts Publishing House, 1993, pl. 165 (fig. 1).
