Chinese Jade Fish Beast Plaque, Ming or Earlier

A Chinese carved jade fish beast plaque dating from the Ming dynasty or earlier.

Dimensions are: 2 1/4 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide, 5.7 cm X 14 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There are small chips throughout. Natural variations to the stone are present.

Provenance: From Mr. Zaun's collection in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Zaun lived in Taiwan with his wife from 1967-68 where his interest in Chinese history and artifacts blossomed. Lots 100-105 from our Nov 14, 2020 auction were from Mr. Zaun's collection.
