Chinese Jade Gui Bi, Possibly Song dynasty
可能宋代 玉圭璧 A Chinese jade toggle carved with stylized ruyi motifs and a Shou medallion dating from the Song dynasty in all probability.
Dimensions are: 3 inches tall X 1 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Age appropriate loss and natural losses to the stone.
Provenance: From Mrs. Kwan in Northern California, by descent from her parents, who collected in Hong Kong over 40 years ago. Two similar green jade Bi from the late Shang Dynasty, are illustrated in _Zhong Guo Yu Qi Quan Ji_, Vol. 2, Hebei: Hebei Fine Arts Publishing House, 1993, pl. 24 (fig. 1).
