Chinese Jade Sword Guard, Warring States Period
戰國 玉劍首 A Chinese small jade sword guard carved with a grain pattern and triple ruyi dating from the Warring states period.
Dimensions are: 1/4 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Age appropriate wear, including chipping and surface wear.
Provenance: From Mr. Lee in Houston, TX, father collected in Taiwan prior to 1980s. A similar jade sword guard from the Eastern Han dynasty, is illustrated in _Zhong Guo Yu Qi Quan Ji_, Vol. 4, Hebei: Hebei Fine Arts Publishing House, 1993, pl. 182 (fig. 1).
