Chinese Miao Hmong Style Embroidered Textiles 15pc
Collection of fifteen traditional Chinese ethnic minority textiles, primarily associated with Miao/Hmong textile traditions of southwestern China. Includes one short-sleeve slipover blouse richly worked with purple, black, and multicolor geometric embroidery; a pair of narrow embroidered costume or apron panels attributed to the Miao of Jianhe County, Guizhou, embellished with dense metallic beadwork; one embroidered baby carrier with green fringe and small metal bead accents; three colorful bellybands or costume panels decorated with stylized floral, bird, and figural motifs; and eight additional embroidered panels and carrying cloths displaying geometric, foliate, and multicolor designs. A varied group illustrating traditional regional embroidery, weaving, and costume decoration. No apparent maker's marks, labels, or tags present. Approximate measurements: blouse 21 inches long, 38-inch bust, 21-inch sleeves; embroidered panels 15 x 7 inches each; baby carrier 25 x 13 inches, excluding fringe; three bellybands or panels 14.5 x 15 inches each; remaining eight panels range from 15 x 12 inches to 23.5 x 20.5 inches.
Condition: Good overall condition with wear consistent with age and traditional use, including scattered loose threads, fraying, creasing, fading, small losses, and areas of separation or unfinished edges.
