Chinese Nichols Wool Carpet, c.1930's, 7'1 x 4'1
Chinese Nichols Wool Carpet, c.1930's, central round medallion with floral design in blue and gray on a raspberry colored field, with gray, blue and purple borders woven with floral designs.
Note: Nichols Chinese Rugs were introduced in 1924 by W.A.B. Nichols of Tientsin China, and marketed as "Super Rugs." They were differentiated from other carpets by their outstanding quality materials, dyes, color, design, weaving and chemical washing, and were created in the Nichols factory under strict control of these elements.
