Chinese Pair of White Glaze Dragon Plates, 18th Century
A pair of Chinese white-glazed dishes dating from the 18th century with hardwood plate stands. The interiors of the dishes are incised with a dragon. They come in a silk box.
Dimensions are: 1 1/2 inches tall X 5 3/4 inches wide, 3.8 cm X 14.6 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Both are in overall good condition with minor glaze defects. One stand has an area of loss.
Provenance: From a private New York City collection. Purchased from Christie's New York on April 2, 2013, as Lot 215. One plate comes with a sticker from the E and J Frankel Collection. A similar example is housed in the Nanjing Museum. A similar example was sold at Christie's New York on September 19, 2013, as lot 1344.
