Chinese Qing Dynasty Enameled Brass Vessel

East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A delightful brass lidded jar with a hexagonal profile and vibrant champleve enamel and gilt details! The surface is a cobalt enamel with green, yellow, white, red, teal, and gilt details. Each side of the hexagon features blooming peony flowers, or perching pheasants. The lid fits flush into the vessel with a small interior lip. The base is slightly recessed and painted a vibrant teal, which is continued on the interior of the vessel. This charming box has an unusual shape and pleasing colors! Size: 2" W x 3.5" H (5.1 cm x 8.9 cm)
