Chinese Qingbai Glaze Ewer, Song Dynasty
A Chinese Qingbai or Yingqing glaze ewer dating from the Song dynasty. It has a long spout and a tall handle.
Dimensions are: 8 inches tall X 6 1/2 inches wide, 20.3 cm X 16.5 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition with glaze pops and glaze skips.
Provenance: From Mr. Brow in Honolulu, Hawaii. The lot is an heirloom that has been in the family for over 40 years. A similar ewer is housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City under accession number 18.57.1. A similar example with a lid was sold at Sotheby's New York on March 17, 2015, as lot 3.
