Chinese Rectangular Bronze Censer, 17-18th Century
A Chinese rectangular bronze incense burner dating from the 17th or 18th century. The censer has four square feet and two side handles. There is a 3-character mark on the bottom.
Dimensions are: 2 7/8 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide, 7.3 cm X 14 cm. Weight: 600 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Age and use wear. There is a possible repair to one handle.
Provenance: From Mr. Zaun's collection in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Zaun lived in Taiwan with his wife from 1967-68 where his interest in Chinese history and artifacts blossomed. Lots 100-105 from our Nov 14, 2020 auction were from Mr. Zaun's collection.
