Chinese Reverse-Painted Scholars Lantern, Late Qing
A lantern with reverse-painted glass panes depicting 12 unique scenes of scholars. Chinese, circa late Qing dynasty. The lantern is outfitted with an electric light. May be used as either a hanging pendant light or a table lamp. Measures 24" x 18 1/2" x 18 1/2".

Condition Report: The light is tested and working. One of six decorative arms extending from the top is broken (missing the decorative dragon head). One of the smaller top glass panes is cracked. Missing two pieces of openwork trim: one of six below the top row of glass and one of six below the bottom row of glass. Missing some of the small wooden clips used to help secure the glass panes.
