A Chinese earthenware Sancai pillow dating from the Liao dynasty. The pillow features a lotus on the top and floral motifs on the sides.
Dimensions are: 3 1/2 inches tall X 10 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Significant age wear, chips, and a hole has been drilled in 1 side.
Provenance: From an estate in Ottawa, Canada. A similar Sancai ceramic pillow with engaged guardian lion heads was sold at Christie's New York September 19, 2013 lot 1270.
