Chinese Sancai Vase with Double Dragon Handles, Tang
A Chinese mottled sancai vase with double dragon handles dating from the Tang dynasty.
Dimensions are: 15 1/4 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide, 38.7 cm X 19.1 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are multiple chips to the dragons, as well as one crack to each handle.
Provenance: From a private Georgia collection. The Metropolitan Museum of New York has in its collection two sancai-glazed amphoras, accession number 65.82.1 and 1984.483.3. Similar pieces have been sold at Sotheby's New York on March 19, 2019, as lot 123 and at Christie's New York on March 24, 2011, as lot 2516.
