Priam was built on the Tyne by Hawthorn, Leslie & Co. and completed in November 1904. She was one of three sister ships, the others being Laertes and Telamon, built for Alfred Holt's Blue Funnel Line. Measuring 383 feet in length with a breadth of 47 feet, her triple expansion engines gave her a maximum speed of 12 knots. Constructed for general trade in the Far East she sailed for the next 27 years before finally being broken up in late 1931.
