Chinese Silver Snuff Bottle with Precious Stones, 19th
A Chinese silver snuff bottle dating from the 19th century. It is inlaid with coral and malachite, and it has enameled Buddhist knots on either side. It has a stopper with no spoon.
Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 2 inches wide, 7 cm X 5.1 cm. Weight: 60.5 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are numerous missing and loose stones. The enamel is lost on one side. The finial on the stopper is loose.
Provenance: From Mr. Clapp in Connecticut. A family heirloom.
