Chinese Square Celadon Brush Washer, 18th Century
A Chinese celadon square brush washer dating from the 18th century. The interior features a crosshatched pattern with a geometric Chilong on each exterior side.
Dimensions are: 1 inches tall X 3 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Some minor iron pits but overall good condition.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok’s daughter and grandson. Items from the same collector were sold at our September Fine Asian Art & Antiques auctions, 2019.
