A dynamic pair of ceramic polo player figures modelled in the round, each a female in a robe with long sleeves and extensive remains of polychrome pigmentation riding a galloping horse in vigorous pose; detailing to the harnesses and rider's garments; each with a custom-made display stand. 11.4 kg total, 49 cm high including stands (9 1/2 in.).
Ex West Country, UK, collection, 1980-1990s. Accompanied by an thermoluminescence analysis report no.C124d48 for one of the figures from Oxford Authentication. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by a search certificate number no.12156-217620.
