Chinese Turquoise Famille Rose Vase, 18-19th Century

A Chinese turquoise ground famille rose garlic head vase dating from the 18th to the early-19th century. The vase features floral tracery around the body. It has a 6-character mark on the bottom. It is accompanied by a wooden stand.

Dimensions: 8 1/4 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide, 20.9 cm tall X 11.4 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The 6-character mark on the bottom has faded into illegibility and minor glaze chipping to the top.

Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok's daughter and grandson. Lot 229-285 from our auction on Sept 6th, 2019 were from the same estate.
