Description: Two beautiful rare "Made in Taiwan" porcelain vases. One is figure describing playing chess (对弈图） and one is landscape marked 中华陶艺 on the bottom of two vases. "China Pottery Arts Co. Ltd." (中华陶艺) was founded in February 10, 1958, specializes in imitation of the ancient Chinese art of ceramics. The company had many great talented artists from art programs in universities in Taiwan at that time. A lot of masterpieces are sent to oversea as Taiwan governments’ gifts. Made in Taiwan porcelain (中华陶艺) are considered as Official Klin (官窑). Unfortunately, the company is discontinued in late 1970s. These two vases represent the highest level of porcelain technique in Taiwan. Inscriptions from the two vases： Paying chess: 错向山中立看棋，家人日暮待薪炊。如何一局成千载，应是仙翁下子迟。戊午年（1978）之夏 维咨作。 The poem is written by a famous poet in Ming Dynasty to describe paying chess in ancient time. Landscape:“茅屋有幸临山水“ 己未年（1979）之夏 张清根. This sentence describes a small house is luckily close to mountain and water. 张清根 drew the landscape on the vase. He is a famous artist. His work was sold in China. The landscape vase is from an estate sale of a Taiwanese immigrant family who came to the U.S. in late 1970s. The family purchased in Taiwan and brought it to the U.S.
