Chinoiserie Tea Table in Manner of Gabriel Viardot
An exemplary circa 19th Century antique two tiered artisan made Japonaiserie or Chinoiserie tea table, produced in the manner of Gabriel Viardot (French, 1830-1906). A museum quality piece with fitted, detachable top tray and lower table section carved with open pierced reticulated fretwork in meander design to dual opposing aprons, and both having striking marquetry and inlaid floral mother of pearl abalone designs to curving sled form tops. Surmounting four (4) cabriole legs with hand carved incised designs and lion's paw feet. No apparent signature: nearly identical tables have been attributed to the “Chinese-Japanese genre” furniture of Viardot. Top section measures approximately 11.5" x 25.5" x 12". Bottom section measures approximately 28" x 36" x 20.5.

Condition: Good to fair condition having age related surface wear, prior glue restoration, and small losses in areas. Estate fresh to the market.
