Chippendale Maple Slant Front Desk
A Chippendale maple slant front desk, fourth quarter 18th century, the hinged fall enclosing a stepped interior fitted with six pigeon holes above five short drawers, over four graduated drawers, raised on bracket feet.
Dimensions:Height 40in; width 36 1/2in; depth 18 1/2in.
Condition Report: Structurally sound. In an overall restored condition. The top with a trapezoid shaped patched-in repair where the lock meets fall front. The fall with horizontal age cracks. Vertical age cracks to the side, the hinged fall with warping and a spliced repair to the lip molding. The brass bail hardware is replaced. Plugged holes to drawer fronts. The current brass hardware is covering plugged holes and in original holes.
