The eared crest centering a pierced Gothic splat, flanked by pieced stiles forming raking back legs and through-tenoned by shaped, S-curve arms raised on serpentine uprights lapped over stretchers of trapezoidal slip-seat, which is joined to beaded square forelegs connected by plain stretchers and medial rail, all feet raised on later 2 1/2-inch blocks, 71cm wide, 55cm deep, 99cm high (28in wide, 22in deep, 39in high). Seat ht. 18 in.
Clarification of original description: the arms are lapped over the side rail, or stretcher, of the seat frame, not the leg stretchers. The vertical arm supports are pieced, not the stiles.
