Choice Egyptian bronze figure of Khonsu, Late Period

A choice Egyptian bronze figure of Khonsu, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, depicted mummiform wearing side-lock of youth and a crown consisting of a solar disc atop a lunar crescent. He holds a staff against his chest and stands atop a tiered integral base. The figure is beautifully detailed in fine style. Height with base: 6 1/4 in (15.9 cm). Nice glossy brown patina with red and green mottling and mounted on an antique wood base with old collection label. Ex collection of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Grieben, acquired 1958-1960. Mrs. Grieben was gifted this piece by the director of the Cairo Museum at this time, while living in the region with her husband, a Commodore of the Argentinian Air Force.
